"Nike" ![]() ![]() Nike was a singleton puppy in a long awaited litter. She lived up to her promise and helped further prove that you CAN cross a Srinagar based pedigree with a Warm Valley based pedigree and get pleasing results. Nike's early show career was quite impressive. She started off with a Best in Match at the Clemson Kennel Club, was Best in Sweepstakes at the 1999 SCOA National Specialty from the 6-9 class, was Best in Sweepstakes at the SCOA Eastern Regional and finally finished her championship at 11 months. Shortly after finishing her championship, Nike became seriously ill with lime disease, to the point that we worried we might lose her. Luckily, our wonderful vets were able to treat her successfully and at this point over 6 years later she does not seem to have any after effects.
Nike was specialed on a limited basis for two years by Bill. In 2005, she finished out the year the #5 saluki in breed points and won the Huron Valley and Galveston Bay saluki specialties. Nike has multiple awards of merit from SCOA nationals, regionals and independent specialties. As a veteran she has been doing well, and swept the veteran sweepstakes at the Empire/Eastern regional weekend earlier this year.
Nike is the dam of one litter, sired by Ch Silvershadow's Ajax of Tradition. The litter consisted of eight black saluki, SIX of them males. Six of the puppies have finished their championships, with brothers Hoss and Sooty finishing on th same weekend in October 2005.
